Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Orrville
Q: Where did you go to school?
A: Central Christian High School and The University of Akron
Q: What events led you to where you are?
A: Choosing Central Christian set many things in motion — it’s where I met my wife and became friends with the son of a Hummel owner, which led me to the agency.
Q: What is your work experience/background?
A: I began as a field underwriter at Westfield. I joined Hummel in 2005 as a Business Risk Advisor, became a partner in 2010, senior partner in 2013, and Chief Growth Officer in 2021.
Q: How long have you been at your current company and what is your role?
A: I’ve been with Hummel for 20 years and now serve as Chief Growth Officer, overseeing Risk Advisors across four divisions in seven locations.
Q: What excites you most about going to work every day?
A: The people — both clients and colleagues. Many clients have become friends, and I enjoy helping our advisors grow in their careers.
Q: What does the WEDC mean to Wayne County?
A: WEDC supports economic development by helping attract and retain businesses.
Q: Why did you decide to join the WEDC Board or Advisory Council?
A: Wayne County’s workforce, diversity of industries, and excellent schools make it an ideal place for business. I’m glad to support WEDC’s efforts.

A: I sang for nearly 10 years with Sonnenberg Station, a 15-voice men’s a cappella choir.

A: 37 years

A: My home. Second place: Wooster Memorial Park
Q: What do you love most about Wayne County?
A: It’s a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
