Established in 1949, Seaman Corporation has cultivated a renowned reputation for exceptional customer service and groundbreaking solutions. Guided by a vision to safeguard valuable assets by providing the world's best protective solutions, Seaman Corporation's team is dedicated to upholding this standard in their daily operations, reflecting the quality of their products and the ultimate goal of their application.
“Our vision defines everything we do as an organization,” said CEO Jeff Swartz. “With the best products in the industry, the value they provide to businesses and organizations globally impacts both our customers and associates.”
Seaman Corporation has a rich history beginning in 1949 as Modern Textile & Plastics Company in Canal Fulton, Ohio. It was renamed Domestic Film Products Corporation in 1951 when it expanded production capabilities and moved to Millersburg, Ohio, an area renowned for its strong work ethic. Over the next 35 years, the company underwent significant growth and product evolution, culminating in a final name change to Seaman Corporation. In 1978, Richard Seaman took over leadership after his father's untimely passing.
In 1986, the company faced a significant insurance issue in Millersburg due to insufficient water capacity for a sprinkler system, prompting a search for a new site. Wooster was chosen as the location for the corporate headquarters, preserving the jobs of the nearly 100 associates working in Millersburg. Today, Seaman Corporation's corporate office in Wooster is home to over 250 associates, with an additional 150 in its Bristol, Tennessee location.
“We had two options when it was time to move from our Millersburg location: consolidate our operations to Bristol, Tennessee, or relocate to Wooster,” said Chairman Richard Seaman. “Our primary motivation for selecting the significantly higher investment in the move to Wooster was to preserve the nearly 100 jobs of our associates in the Millersburg area.”
