Wooster Community Hospital Recognized as Top 100 Hospital in US for 2nd Straight Year

Thomson Reuters Healthcare has again recognized Wooster Community Hospital as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation in an announcement on March 30, 2009.
 
The Top 100 Hospital designation is not an achievement we can apply for; instead, it is based upon concrete data, including:
  • Patient Outcomes
  • Patient Safety
  • National treatment standards (core measures)
  • Patient Satisfaction
  • Efficiency
  • Financial stability.
According to Jean Chenoweth, Senior Vice President for Thomson Reuters, “The award acknowledges the organizational achievement you’ve made by aligning your board, management team, employees, and medical staff in a concerted effort to achieve balanced excellence. Balanced organization-wide performance reflects a hospital’s ability to provide highly reliable, efficient health care services, and great value to patients, local employers, payers, and the entire community.”
 
Thomson Reuters states, in their official documentation, that the Top 100 designation means “The community can rely on the hospital as a well-managed major employer that will continue to invest in newer technology and services needed by the community.
