General Aviation - Wayne County Airport in Smithville provides services for private and business aircraft, and boasts a 5,200 x 100 ft. east/west runway. More details can be found here.

Interstate Access - US Route 30 provides access to Interstate 77 to the east and Interstate 71 to the west.  Approximately 16 miles to the north, SR 57 provides access to Interstate 76, a major east/west thoroughfare. From Interstate 76, motorists have access in less than ten minutes to Interstates 77 and 71.

Water Facilities - The Port of Cleveland on Lake Erie is approximately 50 miles from Wayne County.  It has the best heavy lift capacity on the Great Lakes. Port facilities include nine berths and 6,500 linear feet of dock space. Docks are maintained at a full seaway depth, which is 27 feet. The docks have excellent connections to three major interstates (I-71, I-77, I-90), as well as the Norfolk Southern and CSX railroad. Four terminal operators use port facilities: Oglebay-Norton, Essroc, Kenmore Construction, Federal Marine Terminals.

The Ports of Columbiana County handles 15 million tons of cargo a year, the most on the Ohio River. The Ohio River accounts for over one-third of the maritime cargo moving inland in the United States each year, (approximately 275 million tons) and by comparison handles more cargo per year than the Panama Canal. The port system of Columbiana County provides year round international cargo service via the Ports of new Orleans and southwest Louisiana.

Railroad - CSX, Norfolk Southern, RJ Corman and Wheeling & Lake Erie provide rail service througout Wayne County.  These rail services provide local industries with easy access for transporting supplies and products.

Trucking Services - Several major delivery services including Federal Express and United Parcel Service provide service throughout Wayne County.  There is also an extensive selection of trucking firms in the area, from contract haulers and heavy and light haulers to general motor freight.  Many pride themselves on responsiveness to "just in time" production schedules.

Intermodal - The Northeast Ohio Intermodal Facility, a 24-hour, global operation, is located in nearby Navarre, Ohio.  The state-of-the-art facility offers computerized inventory control, Electronic Data Interchange, a 210-acre staging area for empty units and chassis, three 4-ton overhead cranes, and high-speed receipt and dispatch of containers as well as access to a network of highways for NEOMODAL service to all major cities.

Foreign Trade Zones - Foreign Trade Zones provide significant savings for global shippers, and are one reason that Ohio ranks number one in the US in number of exporting companies. Through the work of The Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium (NEOTEC) with Foreign Trade Zone 181, shippers can bring a bonded container from an East Coast port, clear Customs and return to the East Coast from Northeast Ohio faster than through the Port of New York. Contact NEOTEC at (330) 672-4080.
