The Agricultural Technical Institute

Ohio State ATI, located in Wooster, Ohio, is an associate degree-granting program within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. Students participate in a curriculum that includes general and basic studies, hands-on experience and a paid industry internship. Ohio State ATI is the largest institution of its kind in the U.S., enrolling approximately 800 students. Ohio State ATI maintains a 99 percent job placement rate for all graduates within four months of graduation.

Technologies and Programs

Ohio State ATI students can earn an Associate degree in one or more of 28 majors or "technologies" or a certificate of competency in hydraulic service and repair and commercial turf equipment. Each program of study provides excellent career preparation, combining coursework with a variety of hands-on practical experiences and the opportunity to make professional contacts with industry insiders. Students who successfully complete prescribed courses earn an Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science, or the Certificate of Competency.

The Associate of Applied Science degree prepares students for middle management careers by combining general education courses with hands-on classes that provide state-of-the-art technical and business preparation. The Associate of Science degree allows students to complete 50 percent of the requirements for a bachelor's degree in agriculture or natural resources at The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. This degree also includes the transfer module, a common set of general education courses which apply to other bachelor's degree programs in Ohio.
